"Not only is the Island now host to the Nokia Isle of Wight Festival and the Bestival, the band The Bees also hail from here. My favourite pub is The Spyglass Inn on the seafront at Ventnor. There are also local fairs including the Garlic Festival, where you can taste anything from garlic beer to garlic ice-cream! The unspoilt countryside and beaches are simply breathtaking. Summer is particuarly beautiful. You can watch the sun set over the ocean and listen to chirruping crickets."
